German-speaking Host/ bartender on canal cruise

What you will do 

The most beautiful way to admire Amsterdam is, of course, from the water. Are you looking for the best hospitality job in the city? As a host at Flagship Amsterdam, you are the face of our company. We are specifically looking for German speaking hosts, to ensure an unforgettable cruise for our German guests. 

During the tour, you pour them a delicious drink, and they enjoy the beautiful view over the Amsterdam canals. Together with the skipper, you tell interesting stories about the city, entirely in German. You ensure a relaxed atmosphere and are the main point of contact for service and sociability on board. 

Don’t speak German? No worries! You are very welcome to apply for our regular hosting position, where you will guide tours in English. 

Practical details 

• Location: Amsterdam Center (Boarding locations in the heart of the city). 

• Availability: You work mainly on weekends (this is the basis). During the week, we schedule extra shifts based on tourism and the weather. 

• Employment type: Flexible job / Student job / On-call basis. 

• Start date: April 2026

Your responsibilities 

• You welcome guests on board with a smile; 

• You entertain guests with stories about Amsterdam in German (don't worry, we will teach you everything you need to know); 

• You provide guests with drinks and know how to bring upgrades or extra services to their attention in a natural, hospitable way (upselling); 

• You process the payments neatly and correctly at the end of the tour.

Flagship Amsterdam is a young, fast-growing shipping company in the heart of Amsterdam. We offer both public cruises and private boat tours on our beautiful open sloops and classic saloon boats. What started in 2017 with three boats has now grown to over 60 boats, and we keep expanding!

Job requirements 

Are you ready to use your fresh, sparkling personality at Flagship? 

• You are available on weekends (this is the basis of your schedule); 

• You are willing to work in the evenings, during the high season, and on public holidays; 

• You are hospitable, extroverted, and have a smooth talk; 

• You have an excellent command of the German and English language

• You have commercial insight and know how to upsell in a natural way while maintaining the atmosphere; 

• Experience in hospitality is a plus; 

• You are 18 years or older.
