We are looking for Skippers (Groot Vaarbewijs & Schipper Rondvaartboot Beperkt Vaargebied) for next season in 2025!

About Flagship: 

Flagship Amsterdam is a young, fast-growing canal cruise company located in the heart of Amsterdam. We offer both public and private cruises on our beautiful open boats and classic saloon boats. What started in 2017 with just three boats has now grown to a fleet of over 60 boats, and we continue to expand! Every year, we welcome guests from more than 55 different countries, and we operate year-round. This is made possible by our young and ambitious team of over 400 (seasonal) employees.

Flagship Amsterdam consists of nine different entities, such as Voyage Amsterdam and Captain Jack. Each entity has unique products and caters to a specific target audience. What will you do?

As a skipper at Flagship Amsterdam, you will be responsible for the safe and comfortable transportation of our guests aboard our beautiful boats. In addition, you will join the host(ess) in telling stories about the city while the host(ess) provides guests with snacks and drinks.

During your position you will:

• Effortlessly show guests around during a public tour or private cruise;
• Ensure the safety of the guests and staff on board;
• Tell stories about Amsterdam, its history and sights;
• Answering guests' questions and providing assistance as needed;
• Maintaining and checking the vessel and identifying any problems;
• Working a lot as a team, including with hosts and quay staff;

Requirements:

As a skipper at Flagship Amsterdam, it is important that you have communication skills and love working in a team. 

In addition:

• Are you in possession of the Large Vaarbewijs or Schipper Rondvaart Beperkt Vaargebied;
• Are you in possession of the Social Hygiene (SVH), or willing to get this on short notice;
• As a skipper you follow our Flagship Academy practical training courses;
• Are you prepared to sail on one of our sloops (KVB) if necessary;
• You have a good command of both English and Dutch;
• Experience with sailing on the Amsterdam canals is an advantage;
• Are you available to work 8 to 36 hours per week (of which at least one weekend day per week). Shift times can vary between 08:00 and 02:00.
