Ship Painter Amsterdam – Flagship Shipyard

What will you do

As a Ship Painter at Flagship Shipyard in Amsterdam, you will work on the maintenance, repair and finishing of both our own fleet and external projects. On a daily basis, you prepare and paint various types of vessels, where quality, precision and safety are key.

You work in a professional and hands-on environment at our shipyard in Amsterdam Noord. In this role, you make a direct contribution to the appearance, protection and lifespan of our electric and classic boats. You work independently on tasks, while also collaborating closely with colleagues within the shipyard team.

Location: Amsterdam Noord (Flagship Shipyard)
Contract: Full-time
Working hours: 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: In accordance with the Metal & Engineering CAO
Indicative range €2,350 – €2,900 gross per month (depending on experience and education)

Your responsibilities

As a Ship Painter, you are responsible for carrying out painting and coating work on and around our vessels. Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Preparing surfaces for painting, such as filling, sanding, masking and priming;

• Repairing and preparing damaged surfaces made of polyester, fiberglass, aluminium and steel;

• Applying paint, lacquer and coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment;

• Working with 1- and 2-component coatings, including mixing and colour matching;

• Working safely in accordance with applicable guidelines and using protective equipment correctly;

• Cleaning and maintaining tools and materials;

• Coordinating with colleagues to complete work according to planning and quality standards;

• Recording used materials and completed work accurately.

About Flagship Shipyard

Flagship Shipyard B.V. is the maintenance and project shipyard of Flagship Amsterdam, located in Amsterdam Noord. At the shipyard, we carry out maintenance, repairs and projects for our own fleet of electric and classic boats, as well as for external clients.

Requirements

You are a skilled and detail-oriented Ship Painter who values quality and enjoys working in a technical environment. In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:

• Proven experience as a (ship) painter;

• Skilled in various painting and coating techniques;

• Experience with industrial and preferably maritime coatings;

• MBO level of thinking and working;

• Strong eye for detail and finishing;

• Ability to work safely and in a structured manner;

• Good command of Dutch and/or English;

• Living in or near Amsterdam.
