Dock Host Amsterdam

What will you do

As a Dock Host at Flagship Amsterdam, you are the first point of contact for our guests at the dock. You ensure a warm welcome, a smooth boarding process and an energetic start to every cruise.

You work in a dynamic and international environment at various departure locations throughout Amsterdam. Together with your team, you make sure everything runs smoothly, from ticket checks to communication with skippers and hosts. No two days are the same, and you are encouraged to bring your enthusiasm, energy and personality to work every day.

Practical information

Location: Amsterdam
Contract: Part-time (8–40 hours per week, flexible schedule)
Start date: April 2026 (in consultation)
Working hours: Daytime, evenings and weekends

Your responsibilities

As a Dock Host, you ensure a professional, energetic and welcoming start to every cruise. Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Promoting our experiences enthusiastically and stimulating walk-in sales (including bonus scheme);

• Welcoming guests and creating a great first impression;

• Checking tickets and ensuring a smooth and efficient boarding process;

• Guiding guests to the correct boat;

• Informing guests about additional tours and activities in an interactive way;

• Coordinating communication between skippers, hosts and guests;

• Ensuring guests board and disembark safely and efficiently;

• Contributing to a structured, energetic and positive atmosphere at the dock.

About Flagship Amsterdam

Flagship Amsterdam is a young and fast-growing shipping company located in the heart of Amsterdam. We offer both public sightseeing cruises and private tours with open sloops and classic salon boats. What started in 2017 with three boats has grown into a fleet of more than 60 vessels.

Each year, we welcome guests from over 55 countries and operate year-round with a young, ambitious and energetic team.

Flagship consists of multiple entities, such as Voyage Amsterdam and Captain Jack, each with its own product and target audience. We have a strong growth mindset and continuously develop our organisation and operations.

Requirements

You are energetic, guest-oriented and feel comfortable in a dynamic outdoor environment. In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:

• Available at least 3 days per week, including at least one Friday or Saturday;

• Available to work evenings;

• 18 years or older;

• Living in (or near) Amsterdam;

• Strong communication skills in English (Dutch and other languages are a plus);

• Proactive, hands-on and enthusiastic;

• A true team player;

• You enjoy variety and working in a fast-paced environment.
