What will you do?
As a captain at Voyage, you will be responsible for safely and comfortably transporting our guests aboard one of our beautiful open sloops or luxury salon boats. Additionally, alongside the host, you will share stories about the city while the host serves drinks to the guests.

Responsibilities:

• Navigating guests through a two-hour cruise;

• Ensuring the safety of both guests and staff on board;

• Sharing stories about Amsterdam, its history, and landmarks (in English);

• Answering guests’ questions and providing assistance when needed;

• Maintaining and inspecting the vessel and reporting any issues;

• Working closely with team members, including hosts and dock staff;

• Conducting a two-hour tour without a host when it’s less busy.

Requirements:

As a skipper at Voyage, it is important that you have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. We are also looking for someone who is flexible, enthusiastic, and hospitable. Hospitality is a top priority for us. That’s why, for a certain number of guests, you will have a host on board. However, you must also be willing and able to provide a high-quality two-hour tour independently. Proper boat maintenance combined with good seamanship is essential. You will be navigating the most beautiful and luxurious boats on the Amsterdam canals.

Additionally:

• You must hold a boating license (KVB 1 or 2), a VHF radio certificate, and a Social Responsibility certificate;

• You have experience navigating the Amsterdam canals;

• You speak Dutch & English fluently;

• You are available to work at least two days per week (including at least one weekend day). Shift hours vary between 08:00 and 00:00.
