Job description
What you will do?
As a Maritime Technician (mid-level) at the Flagship Shipyard, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and ensuring our fleet of electric boats remains in top technical condition. You proactively identify what needs to be done, take initiative, and ensure that tasks are carried out properly from start to finish. You independently perform maintenance and repairs, analyse malfunctions, and provide appropriate solutions. In case of larger technical issues, you develop a plan of action and ensure it is executed efficiently and carefully.
You work on both preventive maintenance and urgent repairs, consistently safeguarding quality and safety. You will work in a hands-on and dynamic environment on and around our boats. Although you are part of a close-knit team, you are expected to work independently, take ownership, and take responsibility for your tasks. Thanks to your technical insight and practical mindset, our boats remain reliable and operational.
Practical information
Location: Amsterdam Noord (Flagship Shipyard)
Employment: 32–38 hours per week
Working days: Monday to Friday & flexible availability on weekends
Salary: According to the Metal & Engineering Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Metaal & Techniek), approx. €2,900 – €3,300 gross per month (depending on experience and education)

Your responsibilities
As a Maritime Technician, you are responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair work on our boats. Your tasks include:
Independently performing maintenance and repairs on electric boats;
Identifying technical issues and addressing them proactively;
Repairing damage and performing minor technical work (such as replacing pumps and filling/plastering work);
Maintaining and inspecting battery systems;
Analysing and resolving electrical malfunctions;
Developing and executing action plans for major defects;
Carrying out restoration work;
Contributing ideas to improve technical processes and operations;
Coordinating with colleagues to execute work efficiently;
Recording completed work and used materials.

Job requirements
You are an independent and proactive technician who identifies work and takes initiative. You are hands-on and take responsibility for the quality of your work. Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following:
MBO or HBO working and thinking level in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering;
Proven experience in a technical role (mid-level);
Experience with electrical systems (experience with boats is a plus);
Hands-on mentality and problem-solving mindset;
Able to work independently and take responsibility;
Flexible availability, including weekends;
Valid driver’s license (Category B);
Boat license is a plus;
Good command of Dutch and/or English;
Living in (or near) Amsterdam.
