Dock Host/Ticketseller in Amsterdam with Captain Jack

What you will do

As a dock host, you are the first point of contact for our guests and play an important role in their experience. You ensure a warm welcome, guide the guests to the right boat, and help maintain a neat appearance of the boats between tours.

Practical details

• Location: Amsterdam Center.

• Employment type: Flexible side job / Part-time.

• Working hours: Variable shifts (including willingness to work in the evenings until a maximum of 22:00).

• Start date: As soon as possible.

Your responsibilities

• Receiving, welcoming, and enthusiastically engaging guests;

• Checking tickets and guiding guests to the correct boat;

• Actively selling tickets and convincing customers to choose Captain Jack;

• Informing guests about departure times and additional (other) tours;

• Promoting our services and tours to potential guests;

• Assisting guests with boarding and disembarking;

• Keeping the boats neat and preparing them between cruises;

• Collaborating with skippers to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Job requirements

At Captain Jack, we are looking for dock hosts who are hospitable, independent, and flexible. You enjoy working in a team and have a hands-on mentality. Additionally:

• You are 18 years or older and live in (or around) Amsterdam;

• You are available for at least 2 days a week, including at least one weekend day;

• You are willing to work evenings until a maximum of 22:00;

• You have strong communication skills and can convey information clearly and hospitably;

• You speak English well (other languages are a plus, but not required);

• You preferably have experience in hospitality or as a host/hostess (this is a plus, not a strict requirement).
