Host at The Flagship Stroopwafel Experience

What you will do 

As a Host at The Flagship Stroopwafel Experience, you are responsible for guiding our interactive workshops and creating an unforgettable experience for our international guests. 

You welcome visitors in the heart of Amsterdam, provide engaging explanations about the activity, and guide them step by step in making their own typical Dutch stroopwafel. Additionally, you take care of the preparation, hygiene, and the general representative appearance of our location on the Bloemgracht. Are you ready to give guests a warm welcome and put a smile on their face? Then we are looking for you! 

Practical details 

Location: Bloemgracht 2H, 1015TH Amsterdam 

Availability: A minimum of three days a week, including at least one weekend day. 

Employment type: On-call contract (flexible side job). 

Start date: To be determined. 

Your responsibilities 

• Welcoming and guiding guests during the workshop (45 minutes per round); 

• Explaining the rich history and the traditional preparation of the stroopwafel; 

• Accurately preparing fresh ingredients and work materials; 

• Maintaining a clean workspace and strictly adhering to hygiene rules; 

• Handling the sale of souvenirs and extras, such as Polaroid photos or luxury stroopwafel tins; 

• Assisting with starting up (opening) and closing the location.

About Flagship Amsterdam 

Flagship Amsterdam is a young, fast-growing shipping company in the heart of Amsterdam. We offer both public cruises and private boat tours on our beautiful open sloops and classic saloon boats. Flagship Amsterdam is now expanding its experience offerings with a new activity: The Flagship Stroopwafel Experience. In the heart of Amsterdam, on the Prinsengracht, we receive visitors for an interactive workshop in which the Dutch stroopwafel takes center stage. With this workshop, we offer visitors an extra opportunity to actively participate in a typical Dutch experience. 

Job requirements 

• You have good communication skills in Dutch and English; 

• You are available for a minimum of three days a week (including at least one weekend day); 

• You are presentable, hospitable, and stress-resistant; 

• Experience in hospitality, tourism, or retail is a strong plus; 

• You preferably live in (or around) Amsterdam.
