Electrical Technician in Amsterdam

What will you do?

As an Electrical Technician at Flagship Shipyard, you will work at our shipyard in Amsterdam on the technology behind Amsterdam’s largest electric fleet. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on board our electric boats.

You will work on a wide range of technical projects: from replacing batteries and troubleshooting electrical faults to installing new electrical systems. No day is the same. You will work with various installations, from small electrical components to higher-voltage systems.

With our expertise in electric boats, you will have the opportunity to work on unique projects and further develop your technical skills within marine electrical engineering.

Practical

• You will work at our shipyard in Amsterdam;

• You will work full-time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday);

• You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems on our boats;

• You will work together with colleagues such as shipbuilders, technicians, and other technical specialists;

• You will have a varied working day with different technical challenges.

Your responsibilities

• Installing, connecting, and integrating electrical systems and components, such as electric motors, batteries, inverters, and charging systems;

• Performing maintenance and repairs on electrical installations;

• Replacing, connecting, and testing batteries and electrical components;

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical diagrams;

• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults;

• Performing inspections, measurements, and tests to ensure safety and proper operation;

• Working on systems ranging from low voltage to higher voltage applications;

• Ensuring high-quality technical finishing and accurate documentation of completed work.

• Salary depending on experience and education (€2,670 – €3,400 gross per month based on 38 hours per week);

Job requirements

• Demonstrable experience as an electrical technician;

• Experience within the maritime sector is a plus;

• Knowledge of electrical installations, preferably electric propulsion systems;

• Accurate, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented;

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team;

• MBO-level working and thinking capacity, preferably in electrical engineering;

• Good command of Dutch and/or English.
