Flagship Shipyard B.V. is the specialized maintenance and project shipyard of Flagship Amsterdam, located in Amsterdam North. At the shipyard, we carry out maintenance, repairs, and a wide range of projects on our own fleet of electric and classic vessels, as well as for external clients. Flagship Shipyard is part of Flagship Amsterdam, a young and fast-growing shipping company with a fleet of over 60 vessels and a team of 800 (seasonal) employees. Flagship is known for its excellent service and unique cruises in Amsterdam, and the shipyard plays a crucial role in keeping the fleet in top condition.

What will you do?

As an Electrical Technician, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on board our electric vessels. You work closely with colleagues from other technical disciplines to ensure that all electrical installations operate safely, reliably, and efficiently, and comply with applicable safety and environmental regulations.

The work mainly takes place on and around the vessels in our own fleet. We are looking for a precise and independent Electrical Technician with proven experience in the maritime sector and knowledge of the specific technical and operational requirements of electric propulsion.

Your responsibilities

• Installing, connecting, and commissioning electrical components and systems, such as electric motors, battery packs, inverters, and charging systems;

• Performing preventive maintenance and periodic inspections of electrical installations;

• Diagnosing and resolving malfunctions in electrical systems and equipment;

• Collaborating with shipbuilders, mechanics, and other technicians to ensure proper integration of electrical systems;

• Testing and inspecting electrical installations to guarantee safety and functionality;

• Applying applicable laws and regulations, standards, and safety procedures;

• Keeping records of completed work and materials used;

• Staying up to date with developments in electric propulsion and charging technologies.

What we offer

• All employment conditions in accordance with the Metal & Engineering CAO (collective labour agreement);

• Full-time position of 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday);

• Salary in accordance with the Metal & Engineering CAO, depending on experience and education (indicative range €2,500–€3,500 gross per month based on 38 hours per week);

• Travel allowance (only for commuting distances over 10 km one way) or an NS Business Card;

• 200 vacation hours per year based on a 38-hour workweek;

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician;

• Experience in the maritime sector is a plus;

• Knowledge of electrical installations, preferably electric propulsion systems;

• Accurate, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented;

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team;

• MBO level of work and thinking, preferably in Electrical Engineering;

• Good command of the Dutch and/or English language.
